On the 5th of November, Circus will begin it’s 17th year and what better way to enjoy a birthday but with a cake, celebrations with our adorable children and staff team.

Our setting located in Pittville Circus Road and aptly named Circus Day Nursery opened in November 1997 with just one child, Olivia, the founders daughter and inspiration. Circus had a goal to provide the best childcare setting for young children in and around Cheltenham, and over the past 17 years has grown and flourished into a thriving day care for 119 children, aged 3 months to 5 years.

Circus has opened it’s doors over the last 17 years, to hundreds of children, watching them grow and develop on their journey from Baby Suite to Pre School, and beyond.

We have always focused on building self confidence and esteem in children, enabling them to learn and develop in a stimulating child led environment, where they can relax, have fun and make choices, under the guidance and care of our motivated and dedicated team of staff.

As we move forward into our 17th year our main goal is to improve on each day, to develop and learn, working closely with parents, educators and professionals to bring the best possible care for you and your children.

One of the things that we are proud of here at Circus is our long term staff members. These staff members are the core of our family here at Circus.

We asked two of the longest team members at Circus, Melanie who joined us in October 1998 , and Lucy who joined us in 2001 to put into words what Circus means to them –

I have been a part of the Circus family for sixteen years, during this time I have seen the nursery grow and flourish into the fantastic place it is today! The main success of our setting is the staff, our most important asset. Every person I work with brings a different talent to the table and my job is to listen, identify and share the knowledge and talents of our wonderful practioners . Children have so many exciting opportunities to learn and can benefit from the secret garden, extensive outdoor space, sensory room and the famous ball pool! I love working at Circus, I once read if you laugh together, you can work together! And you will always hear lots of laughter here. – Melanie

I have worked at Circus since July 2001. I have loved every minute of my time here and of course continue to do so!

I’ve worked with the same age of children, the cheeky 2 & 3 year olds! A beautiful age when they turn into little people and all their individual personalities start to shine through. Being a practitioner at Circus, is the best job in the world. We get to care for these children in a safe and loving environment, have fun and learn all at the same time! – Lucy

Circus has also had many long standing relationships with local companies and here is what Simon Storrie had to say on the occassion of our 17th Birthday  –

Congratulations to Circus on celebrating 17 years of success!  I have been Circus Day Nursery’s insurance broker for many years, it has been a pleasure looking after such a special organisation totally committed to the children.  I say special, as Circus goes way beyond what is required of them and provide a happy and safe environment combined with stimulating and fun activities preparing children for school.  I know this, as my own daughter Katie attended Circus and she is now flourishing.

To celebrate our 17th Birthday Wednesday 5th November will be party day!

In addition to the Music Man visiting the nursery, Chuckles, the chirpy chimp will be mingling with the children as we celebrate with lots of fun and games. Andy our amazing chef will be preparing a birthday tea and a cake with of course 17 candles! Circus will be in party mode with staff dressing up and children too.  Balloons and decorations – let the fun commence!  Looking forward to sharing our 17 year celebrations with everyone.

Finally a few words from Sue Wilson the founder of Circus who started on this journey 17 years ago –

Having watched the setting grow and develop over the 17 years, I have met so many amazing and inspiring people, parents and wonderful children. I can’t thank the team enough for all their hard work and dedication to Circus and contributing towards the making of the successful and thriving business it is today. Everyone has played in part in the journey and I am so proud.

A special toast to many many more years of childcare success and to meeting lots of new children and parents along the way. Thank you for all your support.  – Sue Wilson, owner and founder of Circus day nursery and Pre school.
